Our client is one of the leading health care groups and is looking for a Senior Pharmacist to join their dynamic team.

 

The successful candidate will assume full responsibility of the pharmacy by ensuring that quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to required standards. The incumbent will be a member of the hospital management team.

 

Critical Outputs

  • Provide quality pharmaceutical service to customers through dispensing medication within the scope of practice prescribed by the SAPC
  • Providing information on medication to doctors, hospital staff and patients
  • Supplying of medication to the internal units on requisitions and assist with management of all pharmaceuticals within the hospital
  • Profit responsibility with specific emphasis on increasing margins, product conversions and maximising cost saving opportunities
  • Controlling inventory, and be responsible for orders as per LHC protocol
  • Aggressively managing dead stock in the hospital
  • Ensuring that all protocols are adhered to including the relevant processes per the quality management system
  • Performing on call, weekend and public holiday duties
  • Clinical Pharmacy
  • Involvement in training
  • Maintaining highly ethical and professional standards
  • Stock-take, cycle counts and investigation of variances
  • Effective medication safety management
  • Effective product management
Qualifications

• B.Pharm
• Relevant clinical knowledge and experience to the critical outputs
• Current registration with South African Pharmacy Council
• Understanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challenges
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation
• Pharmaceutical product knowledge
• Computer proficiency (MS office)
• Excellent interpersonal skills with good relations with doctors, hospital staff and suppliers
• Strong customer orientation
• Team player
• Very energetic and well organised
• Must be able to work under pressure in a constantly changing environment.
• A figure orientate person, with high attention to detail and strong performance orientation

Requirements for Registration:
• UPDATED CV (List with all duties and responsibilities at each establishment)
• Qualifications: Degree / Diploma / Certificate
• Copy of ID (If you are not a South African citizen please provide Passport and work/ study permit)
• New updated certificate and card from your council, e.g.: SANC. SASOHN, SAPC, etc. (should you have qualified outside of South Africa, please provide us with your registration number from the country you qualified in as well)
• Service Letters (if you have worked in a foreign country we will need these letters from the country you worked in.)
